APCA - Atlantic Culture Promotion Agency will launch, this Friday, February 28th, the documentary ‘MADEIRADiG’.
Held since 2004, MADEIRADiG has brought some of the most renowned artists in electronic and experimental music to Madeira, consolidating itself as a unique event in the context of Cultural Tourism. The partnership with the cultural agency Digital in Berlin was decisive for the internationalization of the festival, attracting a growing audience from Northern Europe and positioning Madeira as a relevant destination for avant-garde music.
Over the course of 20 years, the festival has stood out for its innovation and boldness in artistic curation, presenting irreverent proposals and promoting sound diversity. In 2022, the event expanded to Funchal with the “CiTY SESSIONS”, an initiative that aimed to capture, train and educate the public to enjoy Digital Arts.
With its partnerships with the Digital in Berlin agency and Estalagem da Ponta do Sol, MADEIRADiG, which had its last edition last year, also had the support of the Regional Directorate of Culture, through Casa das MUDAS - Madeira Museum of Contemporary Art and the John dos Passos Cultural Center, and the Portuguese Republic - Culture / General Directorate of Arts, within the scope of supporting programming and audience development projects in the area of New Media.
The documentary, produced by APCA Madeira, appears as a tribute to the 20-year history of MADEIRADiG, highlighting the impact and influence of this iconic event, both in Madeira and internationally.
The premiere takes place this Friday, at 6 pm, and will be available on APCA's digital platforms – Facebook, Instagram and YouTube –, expanding access to the legacy of one of the most innovative festivals on the Madeiran cultural scene.
A production by APCA Madeira with the support of the Portuguese Republic – Culture / Directorate-General for the Arts.
