APCA - Atlantic Culture Promotion Agency launched today the call Atlantics - Media Art.Aimed at individual artists from Madeira and the Azores, the call invites professionals working with installation, film/video, photography, multimedia, sound, digital art and/or interactivity to submit their proposals.​

In the context of the celebrations of the centenary of the publication of Raúl Brandão's The Unknown Islands, this call for projects aims to stimulate contemporary artistic reflection on the archipelagos of Madeira and the Azores. The proposal leads to a critical reflection on the relationship between the concepts of "island" and "unknown", thus encouraging artists from both archipelagos to explore and materialize these ideas through works of art.​

The call also offers the opportunity to carry out an artistic residency in June 2025, in which the selected artists will develop their projects in the archipelago where they do not reside or to which they are not native. The works resulting from this residency will be presented for the first time in a collective exhibition at the Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias in September 2025.​
